2011 Action Items for Current Team Members

Rainout Procedures

1. DO NOT CALL PT!!!

2. Call the NEORH Rainout Line: (330) 923-3400.  When the line picks up, press 92.

3. If the message does not say that the game is cancelled, go to the field under the assumption that the game is still on.

4. If it is raining where you are, return to Step 1.

Fees & Costs

Individuals are responsible for paying their own league dues and purchasing a uniform & accessories.  The current Fee Structure, which breaks down costs for each player, is located on the File Cabinet page.  All individual player fees for 2011 are due to the league by Monday, April 4th.  Uniform costs are due to the manager by Friday, April 15th.

Uniforms & Equipment

Players purchase and retain their own uniforms and equipment, except for batting helmets.  Batting helmets are purchased and retained by the team.  Jerseys are the only item that must be purchased through the manager.  Pants can be purchased either through the manager by filling out the Pants Order Form or by players themselves.  Everything else is the responsibility of the individual player.  However, you should follow these guidelines when considering your purchases:

  • Pants must be white with red piping on the sides.  No pinstripes, solid white (w/o piping), gray or any other color scheme.
  • Hats must be the Atlanta Braves "home" style: blue crown, red bill and white script 'A' logo.
  • Socks and belts must be red.
  • Undershirts and spikes must fit with the team color scheme: red, navy, gray or white.  Exception: spikes can be black.
  • Bats must be wood.  This includes all common wood types, wood composites, bamboo and metal-wood combos.

New Player Specific Items

A "new" player is one who either 1) has never played in Roy Hobbs Baseball before or 2) has not played in Roy Hobbs Baseball in the last 3 consecutive years or longer.  New players have these added responsibilities:

  1. Print, fill out, sign (both sides) and have the manager sign the Player Contract & Insurance Waiver.  This form can be downloaded from the File Cabinet page.
  2. Produce a photocopy of either your driver's license or birth certificate.
  3. Turn in the above items, along with a $15 new player fee, in person at the league office.  Refer to the Fields page for a map and directions to the league office.

Sponsors

If you know of a potential sponsor, engage them.  Find out if they would be willing to assist us with our fees in return for either advertisement opportunities or patronage (if it's a restaurant/bar).  Our total league fees are $3,780, but we will welcome any monetary assistance.  The level of return on investment depends on how much the sponsor is willing to give.  If a potential sponsor needs more information, refer them to the manager.

Prospective Players

We welcome the interest of anyone who is committed to playing.  If you know of a prospective player, forward his name, primary phone number and email address to the manager.  If it's more convenient, just have him fill out and submit the Player Profile Form on the Forms page.
